Alu 2P and Alu 3P (HWM) Weight
Modes: Using the SAPE Arm
Refer to Figure 5.21.
The gauge arm must be used to apply the stick-on
weight(s).
Manually move the wheel if you need to correct
the left plane compensation position (green
arrows, Fig. 5-19).
Press the pedal of the main shaft lock to hold the
wheel in this position.
Decide to use Hidden Weight Mode «HWM» now (
Clean the fi tting position before attaching the
adhesive weights.
In compliance with the imbalance detected,
approach at the gauge head the suitable adhesive
weight (1, Figure 5-22).
Note:
When the value "0" appears while moving
the arm, the machine beeps to indicate
that the correct application position has
been reached.
— Remove the protective tape (2) from the stick-on
weight and apply it to the correct point on the rim.
CAUTION: MOVE AWAY FROM THE WHEEL
— Press on the value (B, Fig. 5-19), to automatically
bring the wheel to the right-hand WAP position.
— Place the appropriate adhesive weight on the end
of the gauge arm
— Remove the protective tape and fix it in the
suggested position ("0" + "beep") on the rim.
— At the end perform a Test Run.
5.8.1.1
Using the Laser Pointer
In Alu 2P and Alu 3P modes the correction planes for
adhesive weights are precisely indicated by the laser
pointer directly on the rim (Fig. 5-23).
Note:
When the indication is given by the laser (if
enabled from service), the weight must not be
fi tted at 12 o'clock, but at the bottom of the
rim, precisely where indicated by the pointer.
There are at least two positions where the adhesive
weights can be fi tted, indicated by the laser pointer,
depending on the wheel type and the balancing mode.
When a run is completed correctly the BALANCING
screen shows the correction values and the position
where the weights must be fi tted.
To make the corrections:
— Select an adhesive weight of the indicated size and
adjust it to the wheel radius by bending it.
— If necessary, index the wheel precisely into the
correction position for the left plane. When the
correction position is reached, the two arrows on
the screen light up green.
