tion, the unbalance values recalculated according to the new dimensions are displayed.
IMPORTANT
Bear in mind that the wheel's nominal diameter (e.g. 14") refers to the planes
on which the tyre bead rests, which are obviously inside the rim. The val-
ues measured are with reference to external planes and, as a result, are
smaller than the nominal values due to the thickness of the rim itself. The correction value
therefore refers to an average rim thickness. This means that the data measured on wheels
with different thicknesses may vary slightly (2 or 3 tenths of an inch maximum) from the
rated values. This is not a lack of accuracy of the measuring devices, but reflects reality.
If the automatic measuring arm fails to operate, the geometric data can be entered
manually by following the procedure indicated in the "manual wheel data entry" section,
function present within the utility and configuration programmes.

WHEEL SPIN

Wheel spins take place by pressing the
key.
CAUTION
During machine use, personnel may not be present in the area enclosed by the section-
ing in Fig. 7.

AUTOMATIC POSITION SEARCH

The research phase of the position takes place at the end of the spin whether on the
wheel is an unbalance. This function is active only if the RPA programme is set to ON (see
" Automatic position search configuration (RPA)", a function present in the configuration
programmes).
This programme may also be performed by pressing buttons
and
simultaneously. This function is used in particular on machine versions WITHOUT the
wheel guard.

BALANCING PROGRAMMES

Before starting a balancing operation, the following steps must be followed:
- mount the wheel on the hub using the most suitable centring system;
- make sure that the wheel is locked correctly to the shaft so that no displacement can
occur during the spin and braking phases;
- remove any counterweight, pebble, dirt or other foreign body;
