6. Fit the correct Compression Washer as per the chart onto the top of the drum and sleeve
7. Finally secure the assembly with the Spindle Lock Nut (2) which is screwed in anti-
clockwise not clockwise. The final assembly should be as (Image B). Do not over-tighten
Note: If the sleeve rotates on the drum when switched on the Spindle Lock Nut has not been
sufficiently tightened to compress the drum and therefore grip the sleeve.
IMPORTANT: Do not use a sanding sleeve that is too worn. This can lead to excessive heat
build-up and damage the drum. Damaged Sanding Drums due to worn sanding sleeves will not
be covered under guarantee.
Tilting the table
The Table (12) can be tilted up to 45° (Image G) this allows easy chamfering as well other
edge work
1. Fit a Tilting Table Insert (27) of the correct size to the table
2. Loosen the 2 Angle Locking Knobs (16) on both sides of the table
3. Move the table to the required angle position using the Angle Scale (20) an Angle Indicator
(19)
4. Lock the 2 Angle Locking Knobs
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing protection, as
well as suitable gloves, when working with this tool.
WARNING: ENSURE gloves and clothes worn do not have loose threads that could get
caught by the rotating spindle and drag your hand or head into the rotating spindle causing
severe injury. It is recommended to wear gloves that are not fabric based.
Switching on and off
Note: Ensure there is no contact between the Sanding Sleeve and the Table Insert before
turning the machine on.
• Press in the On Button (5) is located on the front of the spindle sander
• To turn the spindle sander OFF, press in the Off Button (6)
Sanding
WARNING: Do not sand metal with this sander. Sanding metal will cause sparks that may
ignite wood and dust particles on the sander or in the workshop
WARNING: Feed the workpiece gradually, AGAINST the direction of rotation, onto the sanding
sleeve. Failure to do this could force the workpiece away from the sanding sleeve with risk of
injury. Do not force the workpiece or apply excessive force.
NOTE: The spindle rotates in an anti-clockwise direction
1. Check the machine is mounted securely on the workbench and the Spindle Lock Nut (2)
is fastened correctly with appropriate sanding sleeve and table insert, in accordance with
guidance in 'Fitting a Sanding Sleeve'
2. Ensure you are wearing all appropriate safety equipment, including face mask and safety
glasses, then switch on the dust extraction system (if available)
3. Turn the sander ON and allow the motor to reach full speed
4. Feed the workpiece gradually, AGAINST the direction of rotation, onto the sanding sleeve
(Image H, I & J)
• Do not force the workpiece or apply excessive pressure
• Guide the workpiece against the direction of rotation only, or the rotation forces of the
spinning sanding sleeve will tend to throw or bounce the workpiece away from the sanding
sleeve
5. When finished, turn off the machine and disconnect from mains power

Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection,
maintenance or cleaning.
Table 0° Calibration
1. Unlock the 2 Angle Locking Knobs (16)
2. Place a spirit level or other angle indicating tool on the Table (12) surface facing away from
you so the level is inline from the front to the back of the Table
3. Find the perfect flat 0° position (If you can't get to the 0° position loosen the Table Stop
Lock Nuts (13) both sides and adjust the height of the Table Stop Bolts (14) to allow further
angle movement of the Table
4. Lock the Angle Locking Knobs at this position.
5. Re-check the 0° angle is still correct
6. Check the Angle Indicator (19) is pointing exactly to the '0°' position on the Angle Scale (20).
If not , loosen the Angle Indicator Screw (18) and turn the Angle Indicator (19) so it is exactly
on 0° of the Angle Scale (20) and re-tighten the Angle Indicator Screw
7. Adjust the height of the Table Stop Bolts (14) so they rest on the Table Stops (15) at the 0°
position and lock that position with the Table Stop Lock Nuts (13). This ensures you can
easily return the table to the 0° position without visually checking the Angle Scale
Note: After using the Table at a tilted angle always check for wood dust and chippings resting
on the Table Stops which may affect the 0° position.
Note: Carefully return the Table to the 0° position after use as aggressive adjustment may lose
the set calibrated position.
Alternative calibration: If you require a critical 45° angle for the table and make frequent
use of angling the table, use a spirit level with a 45° window or other angle tool and adjust
the Angle Indicator so it indicates exactly 45° when the Table is at 45° as shown by the spirit
level. Then use the Table Stops to return to the 0° position. The Angle Indicator may not line up
exactly with the 0° position when the Table is returned to 0°.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should
be carried out by an authorised Triton service centre. This advice also applies to extension
cords used with this tool
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the machine's service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry
cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol,
petrol or strong cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
Lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray dry lubricant
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children. If the tool is
permanently setup in a workshop or garage ensure access is restricted to prevent children
operating the tool.
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE),
with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose of
power tools
