3.8 Control of air cleaning filter
1) Unscrew the butter fly nut and extract the washer and the cle-
aning cover.
2) Check if the filter is dirty and clean it if necessary.
ATTENTION
Do not operate the motor without the air filter, as this
may accelerate the breakdown of the motor due to the
intake of dust or dirt through the carburettor.
3.9 Checking the make-up water
The pump should be full of water before putting it in operation.
ATTENTION
Do not attempt to operate the pump without water as
this will result in overheating. Prolonged operation wi-
thout water could also damage the pump's watertight elements. If
it appears to be operating without water, pause the motor and refill
with water once it has cooled down.

Any source of real or possible danger must be eliminated before
operation. Identify the positions of the emergency buttons,
switches or any other emergency systems installed in the motor
drive pump.
Be aware of the emergency operations relative to the installation.
Identify the position of extinguishers, protection and emergency
tools and their operation.
Detect sources of danger such as fuel wastages, lubricating oil,
acidic solutions etc.
Ensure that the motor drive pump is clean and there are no obsta-
cles in operating area. Check that the exhaust pipe is not pointed
towards obstacles or that these elements are kept at a minimum
distance of 1 metre.
