• Don't forget that the catalytic converter reaches very high temperatures
that can cause serious burns or start fires.
• Make sure that there are no oil stains, rags, paper or other easily
inflammable material near the catalytic converter.
When working on batteries remember that:
Car batteries contain sulphuric acid and generate explosive gas. Therefore,
always observe the following precautions:
• Always wear safety glasses.
• Do not place tools on the battery. They could cause accidental contacts.
Before testing or recharging a battery, cover the openings with a wet

cloth to suffocate any explosive gas.
• Avoid making sparks when attaching the cables to the battery.
• Do not splash the electrolyte on your skin, in your eyes or on your
clothes as it is extremely corrosive and highly toxic.
