The clamps may be used in hoisting or pulley systems (fig.9).
When not in use keep the device cams closed because the teeth could damage other equipment.
TurboChest
TurboChest is a rope clamp designed specifically for use hooked to a harness ventral attack point. The sliding pulleys [7]
allow better progression performance and better resistance to wear. In addition to normal vertical use, TurboChest is
particularly suited for use on crossings.
For installation on a harness see fig.10. The tensioning tape hole [6] should only be used to keep the lock correctly in
position: do not use it to carry out any other load bearing function.
Use EN 12841/B (Rope Access)
Only use EN 1891 certified EN 1891 type A semi-static ropes with a diameter from 10 to 13 mm (CAMP ropes are
recommended, Titanium items 1756, 1757, 1758, Lithium items 2239-2240-2241 and Chrome item 1760) (fig.7a).
The structural anchor point to which the rope is connected must be above the work area and have a minimum strength of 15
kN. The working line must not deviate from the vertical; if it does, take adequate precautions to prevent dangerous pendulum
effects. For the connection of rope clamps use EN 362 (type B or Q) and EN 354 lanyards with a maximum length of 1 m.
Type B work line ascenders are not rated for fall arrest; therefore, a safety line with a certified EN 12841 type A fall arrest
device must be paired with the working line (fig.8). Use a full-body harness certified according EN 361 and EN 813.
The maximum use weight load is indicated on the device marking and on table A.
Use EN 567 (climbing, mountaineering and caving)
Use semi-static ropes certified EN 1891 Type A or B with diameters between 8 and 13 mm or dynamic ropes certified EN
892 with diameters between 8 and 11 mm or 8 mm EN 564 ropes (fig.7b). For the connection of rope clamps use EN
12275 connectors and EN 566 loops. Use a EN 12277 harness.
TURBOFOOT
Summary
CAMP TurboFoot (right and left) are rope ascenders for foot.
They are only for the purpose of progression, integrated with certified ascenders and/or appropriate fall arrest systems.
They are not suitable for carrying out any safety function (fig.11).
Use
Use semi-static ropes certified EN 1891 Type A or B with diameters between 8 and 13 mm or dynamic ropes certified EN
892 with diameters between 8 and 11 mm or 8 mm EN 564 ropes (fig.7b).
For correct installation on the climbing boot see fig.12. For adjustment see fig.13: the lowest possible position on the
climbing boot allows for better performance in ascent.
For installation press the rope downward against the cam (fig.14a). For removal simply make a strong rearward motion
with your foot (fig.14b). Expert users may be able to insert the rope automatically with a specific movement of the foot.
