3. Installation and Wiring
Non-Tripp Lite External Battery Cabinet Connection
When connecting a non-Tripp Lite external battery cabinet to the UPS, an appropriate 4-pole non-fuse DC breaker and fast-acting fuses
must be installed. Do not use an AC breaker. Locate the breaker and the fuses as close as possible to the batteries. Refer to the figure
below.
• The parallel UPS systems can connect with common batteries.
Note: Parallel UPS systems can connect with common batteries; however, if paralleling UPS systems for redundancy, Tripp Lite does not recommend the
use of a common battery.
WARNING:
A battery can present a risk of electric shock and high short-circuit current. Servicing of batteries and battery
cabinets must be performed or supervised by qualified service personnel knowledgeable in batteries, battery
cabinets and the required precautions. Keep unauthorized personnel away from batteries and battery cabinets.
