Manual cleaning / disinfection
Use only cleaning and disinfection products which are recommended by the manufacturer for use with fiber optics
and plastics. Follow the manufacturers instructions regarding concentration and duration of use exactly. After this
process, rinse the blade with de-mineralised water and ensure that no deposits remain on them.
Warning: Use of the wrong cleaning and disinfection products or methods can cause irreparable damage to the
laryngoscope.
Ultrasonic cleaning is not permitted!
Automatic cleaning / disinfection
The laryngoscope can be cleaned or thermally disinfected at up to 93°C in an automatic machine. Use only
cleaning products, which are recommended for use with stainless steel and plastic. The rinsing procedure must
ensure that no deposits are left on the product. Use only de-mineralised water for the final rinse.
Sterilization
Laryngoscopes have to be sterilized as required by national regulation and internal institutional standards.
We recommend the sterilization with saturated steam at 134°C for 4 minutes. Cycles of up to 18 minutes or up
to 60 minutes in specified cases should not damage the metal part of the blade. There may be a reduction in light
transmission with frequent / repeated long-term steam sterilization, particularly if the steam quality is not ideal.
It is the responsibility of the end user to ensure that the cleaning and sterilization is actually performed using
appropriate equipment, materials, and personnel to achieve the desired result. This normally requires validation
and routine monitoring of the process. Any deviation from these instructions should be evaluated for effectiveness
and potential adverse consequences.

chargers.
- After some minutes' use the laryngoscope bulb will be hot.
- The laryngoscope may only be used by trained personnel.
- To avoid cross-infection, the laryngoscope must be cleaned and disinfected or sterilized after each intubati-
on (see cleaning instructions).
- Where the instrument is subject to frequent use we recommend that a spare instrument and a small stock
of replacement bulbs and batteries should be permanently available.
