2. To attach new buckles, open the buckle tab slightly. Feed the loose end
of the strap through the back of the buckle . Gently pull the loose end.
3. Verify proper installation by connecting the buckles as-worn (See
DONNING THE ADVANTAGE 420 RESPIRATOR). If the strap is
twisted, remove the buckle, untwist it, and reattach the buckle.
HEAD CRADLE ADJUSTMENT
1. Unsnap the buttons on the top of the cradle.
2. Line up the end of the cradle with the desired size.
3. Snap the buttons into place.
HEAD HARNESS REPLACEMENT
The Advantage 420 Respirator can be assembled to the yoke for use in two modes; drop
down and non-drop down.
LEVER REPLACEMENT
For removal or attachment of the lever, the catch on the lever must line
up with the notch in the yoke. The lever clicks onto the yoke.
MAINTENANCE
This respirator must be kept in good condition to function properly. When a respirator
shows evidence of excessive wear or damage, it must be replaced immediately. (See
PREPARATIONS FOR USE for proper inspection procedures.) Store the respirator in a
clean, dry location. Do not distort the facepiece rubber during storage. Dispose of the
respirator or its components, in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
Remove and discard cartridges before cleaning the facepiece. Clean and disinfect after every
use with MSA non-sudsing Confidence Plus® Cleaner (P/N 10009971). Rinse thoroughly in
plain warm water (never exceed 110ºF to avoid overheating and distortion of parts) and then
air dry. ANSI suggests that users should be trained in cleaning procedure.
