7.2 Electrical connection

WARNING! Risk of electric shock!
Electrical connection must be carried out by an
electrical installer authorised by the local power
supply company in accordance with the
applicable local regulations (e.g. NEC
regulations).
• Check that the mains current and voltage comply
with the data on the rating plate.
• Pump must be earthed in compliance with regula-
tions.
• Use a disconnecting device to disconnect from
the mains with a contact gap width of min. 0.12 in
(3 mm),
• Fuse protection: 16 A, inert or circuit breaker with
C-characteristic.
Fuse protection: 20 A, inert or circuit breaker with
C-characteristic, for MTS 40/143-165... , 3~230 V

(cable 7 x 2,5 mm ).
• The switch box for the pump(s) must be provided
as an accessory or by the customer, and must be
equipped with a protective motor switch which is
to be set to the nominal motor current as indi-
cated on the rating plate plus approx. twenty per-
cent.
• Connection possibility for a thermal winding con-
tact (WSK = normally closed contact) and the seal
Monitoring (DI = normally opened contact):
Connection to 5 V DC, 2 mA (max. 30 V DC, max.
30 mA).
Opening the WSK and closing the DI must deacti-
vate the pump, acknowledgement may only take
place manually.
CAUTION! Risk of damage the pump!
Risk of damage through incorrect electrical con-
nection.
• WSK and DI are offset against the protective
earth (PE). Only galvanic separated or non-
earthed control voltages can therefore be used!
• The aforementioned safety installations (WSK
and DI) are only guaranteed to function correctly
where they are used in conjunction with suitable
switching units. If coils are damaged due to a not
suitable motor control no guarantee will be
assumed.

• Connecting cables should be connected to the
leads as follows:
Pump with three-phase motor (3~460V):
For the three-phase current connection, the leads
of the free cable end are to be assigned as follows:
