8. PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS (continues)
FUNCTION 3 - Obstacle detection
This function is enabled only if the "Obstacle detection sensitivity" is enabled (between 1 and 10 of function 1).Set the values
bearing in mind that they are valid only if the limit switches are available (Value "1" - Functions 11 and 12) 0 = STOP of the
automatic access. In order to reset the movement, give another Radio or "OPEN" or "CLOSE" command (terminals 1-4
"CLOSE" and 1-5 "OPEN") bearing in mind that the unit accepts only closing commands if it is in the opening phase, and
only opening commands if it is in the closing phase.1 = STOP for 1.5 secs. and REVERSES the operating direction of the
automatic access.2 = STOP for 1.5 secs. and REVERSES the operating direction of the automatic access for 2 more secs.
At this point the automatic access stops again and closes again after the dwell time (Function 10) and the pre-closing
flashing time (Function 14).
Note:
If the limit switches re not available (Functions 11 and 12 set to 0), and Function 1 is greater than 1, when the automati c
access meets an obstacle during the opening phase, as such tripping the obstacle detection function, the unit performs the
"Automatic closing" operation, preceded by the pre-closing flashing of the warning light (it performs this operation regardless
of the value set in Function 3).
Note:
The obstacle detection function is not active for the first 4 seconds of the automatic access' movement.
Note:
It is recommended to carry out the obstacle detection tests both after the first manoeuvre and after 5 or 6
manoeuvres (see page 10 Obstacle detection sensitivity setting).
FUNCTION 4
Radio Command (plug-in radio receiver)
This function is used to enable various control signals sent via the first channel of a MPS or MPS-Roll Prastel transmitter
and received by a Molex plug-in receiver in the unit (see Fig. 3 on page 3).
Set value to:
0 =
TO OPEN (the gate opens and closes again after the dwell time set via FUNCTION 10)
1 =
TO OPEN/CLOSE (the gate closes after 1.5 secs and the pre-closing flashing time of receiving a second signal)
2 =
TO OPEN/STOP/CLOSE (the gate closes after the dwell time set via FUNCTION 10 of receiving the second signal,
or after the pre-closing flashing time of receiving the third signal)
3 =
TO OPEN/STOP/CLOSE/STOP (the gate closes after the dwell time set via FUNCTION 10 and the pre-closing
flashing time of receiving the second and the fourth signal, or after the pre-closing flashing time of receiving the third
signal)
Note:
Do not modify the parameters when the automatic access is moving
FUNCTION 5
OPEN COMMAND (terminals 1 & 5)
This function permits to set the operating mode of the NO external contact connected between terminals 1 and 5 of the
control terminal strip for the following operations to be performed:
Set value to:
0 =
TO OPEN (the gate opens and closes again after the dwell time set via FUNCTION 10
1 =
to perform the same operations as those set via FUNCTION 4
FUNCTION 6
Safety input during opening (terminals 1 & 6)
This function permits to set the safety operating mode during opening (e.g. a pneumatically-operated rib, a photocell-rib, a
wire-rib, etc.).
Set value to:
0 =
to disable safety during opening (this avoids having to make a jumper between terminals 1 and 6)
1 =
TO STOP upon tripping of the safety device during opening. In this case the gate stops. To reset the movement give
another Radio or "CLOSE" command (terminals1-4 "CLOSE"); the unit accepts only opening commands after the
tripping and upon photocell resetting.
2 =
TO STOP and upon photocell resetting, after 1.5 secs. and the pre-closing flashing time, TO CLOSE.
