Do not open the motor or terminal box when the motor is powered up or in the
presence of an explosive atmosphere.
Use the clothing and individual safety equipment specified by current laws on safety in the
workplace.
Any work on the motor which affects its protection may only be executed upon
the written authorisation of the Manufacturer.
Do not dump polluting materials into the environment. Dispose of all such materials as
stipulated by current legislation.

4 HANDLING AND TRANSPORT

4.1 HANDLING AND TRANSPORT
On receipt of the electric motor, make sure the delivery corresponds to the purchase
order and that it is not damaged or faulty in any way. In case of problems of any kind,
immediately contact the shipping agent or the Manufacturer's sales network.
Handle the equipment in accordance with the instructions given in this manual or on the packaging, if
present.
Lift the motor using its eyebolts (if fitted), bearing in mind that the motor's centre of gravity will depend
on the motor's size and execution.
Lift and transport the motor using equipment rated for the load, anchor the motor at the points
provided and take all possible precautions to ensure personal safety.
The eyebolts are designed to lift the motor only.

4.2 STORAGE

The material can be stored for a period of two years under cover at a temperature between -15 °C and
+60 °C and relative humidity not in excess of 80%. Storage in all other conditions requires specific
packaging.
Some recommendations for storing the electric motor are given below:
Do not store the unit in excessively humid conditions or where it is exposed to the weather (i.e.
outdoors).
Do not place the unit directly on the ground.
Place the unit on a stable base and make sure that it is not subjected to accidental
displacement or vibrations.
Store the packaged unit (if permitted) in accordance with the instructions on the packaging
itself.
If the storage period exceeds 6 months, smear all outer machined surfaces with grease to protect
against rusting.
