Make sure the power, ground and protection (cut-out) cables are undamaged and the terminals
are correctly screwed down
Any irregularity in the above conditions or damage must be immediately corrected.
Use only original spare parts for replacements.
The shaft seals must be replaced at least once a year and whenever the bearings
are replaced.
Do not modify the motor in any way that changes its operating specifications.
8.3 REPLACING THE BEARINGS
The motors are equipped with life-lubricated bearings fitted with seals which do not require greasing
during their specified service life.
The duty life of the lubricant depends on the temperature. In the case of BN series motors with no
overhung load on the shaft and a horizontal mounting position, it is as follows:
In the case of M series integrated motors, the bearing replacement frequency depends on the duty of
the motor as shown in the table below:
M = torque required by the application

M = nominal torque at gear unit output shaft. The value can be obtained from the gearmotor technical

data charts.
In special operating conditions, for example, vertical mounting positions, vibrations or variable loads,
the bearings may require more frequent replacement than indicated above.
The replacement interval must in no case exceed 2 years, due to lubrication failure.

8.4 CLEANING THE SURFACE OF THE ELECTRIC MOTOR

Clean all external surfaces of dust and other deposits, making sure that the unit is well ventilated and
heat dissipation is unobstructed. Use compressed air to clean the motor (max. pressure 6 bar) and
avoid using solvents or other products which may damage the motor's construction materials. Do not
direct high pressure jets of water at the motor.
If the motor is to be paint coated, protect its nameplate, machined surfaces, gaskets and
seal rings.
