Front brake (continued)
5/ Run a sheath along the handlebar from the
brake lever, cut it at 30 mm from the stem
and fit a sheath end (Fig. k).
6/ Fit the quick-release at the end of this
sheath making sure that it is actually in the
closed position (Fig. j), then feed the
lubricated brake cable through the
assembly. Next feed the cable into the
sheath located in the stem until it comes
out at the fork crown.
7/ Withdraw the plastic tube from the elbow.
Thread the cable through the plastic tube
and insert both into the elbow. Reassemble
the elbow to butt up against the sheath.
8/ Engage the elbow in the yoke.
9/ Press the elbow into the fork by pulling
on the sheath at the stem end, until it is in
its permanent position.
10/ Cut the gaiter down to 23 mm. Position it up
to the elbow, feed the cable through the
cable guide and locate it in the right-hand
outside arm (Fig. m).
11/ Hold the cable using the cable clamp
such that the two outside arms are flush
with the fork. (Fig. n). Fine adjustment
can be made using the quick-release

provided for this purpose and screw on the
caps using a 2 mm Allen key to a torque of
1 Nm.
15/ Operate the lever around ten times and

Also check the clearance between the pads
and the rim.

BRAKE ADJUSTMENT:

If you are using wide rims (> 24 mm) remove the spacers between the pad
