3. Locate the correct positions on the rack's vertical mounting rails to install the slide
assemblies.
Guidelines:
Up to four Sun Enterprise 250 servers can be installed in the 56-inch (143-cm)
Sun Enterprise Expansion Cabinet; up to five Sun Enterprise 250 servers can be
installed in a 68-inch (173-cm) and a 72-inch (183-cm) rack enclosure.
The slide assemblies for the first server should be installed in the lowest
available position (Holes 2 through 5). The remaining servers should be
installed from the base up as shown in the figure below.
To mount the Sun Enterprise 250 in an EIA standard rack, allow six unit
spaces.
Note – If you install a device in the rack below the Sun Enterprise 250 server, make
sure that you allow enough space to open the disk access door 90 degrees. There
should be at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) of space from the lowest edge of the plastic panel
covering the removable media assembly to the top of the installed device.
Hole 2
Note – The hole settings for the first four systems in this figure apply to a 56-inch
(143-cm) tall Sun Enterprise Expansion Cabinet. For 68-inch (173-cm) and 72-inch
(183-cm) racks, use the fifth system hole settings.
