How to Set Oven for Cleaning
1. Follow the directions in the Before
a Clean Cycle section
Close the oven door and slide the
latch handle to the right as far as
it will go. If your range does not
have a latch, the door wilt lock
automatically.
Never force the door latch handle.. Forcing the handle
may damage the door lock mechanism
3. Press the CLEAN pad_
4. Press the ,_ or T pad until the
desired Clean Time is displayed.
Clean Time is normally 4 hours and 20 minutes.
You can change the Clean Time to any time between
3 and 5 hours, depending on the amount of soil in your
oven,
5. Press the START pad..
The self-clean cycle will automatically begin within a few
seconds after the word "CLEAN" is displayed and the
word "ON" appears in the display_ When the oven heats
to a high temperature, the words "LOCKED DOOR" will
be displayed and, a short time later, the door wilt be locked
in position, It wilt not be possible to open the oven door
until the temperature drops below the lock temperature
6, When the LOCKED DOOR light is off, slide the latch
handle to the left as far as it will go and open the door.
If your range does not have a latch, the door will
unlock automatically.
To Stop
a Clean
Cycle
1. Press the CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. When the LOCKED DOOR light goes off,
open the door
After a Clean Cycle
When the clean cycle is finished, the word "CLEAN" will
go out in the display. When the oven temperature has
cooled, the words "LOCKED DOOR" will go out and the
door can be opened.
After a clean cycle, you may notice some white ash in
the oven. Just wipe it up with a damp cloth. If white spots
remain, remove them with a soap-filled steel wool pad.
Be sure to rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water
mixture. These deposits are usually a salt residue that
cannot be removed by the clean cycle.
If the shelves become hard to slide, apply a small amount
of vegetable oir or cooking oil to a paper towel and wipe
the edges of the oven shelves with the paper towel.
If the oven is not clean after one clean cycle, the cycle
may be repeated..
