• If the fall-prevention anchoring device to be in-
stalled is the Tractel
a) Clean the plate surface (label 8) around the
attachment hole (label 12).
b) Stick the marking label (label 17) onto the
plate, with the attachment hole in the centre
(label 12).
c) Insert the M12 threaded rod (label 4), which
will serve to attach the anchoring device, into
the hole in the plate (label 12), and also apply
the nut and shoulder washer (label 6, 7).
d) Place a 19mm spanner into the anchoring de-
vice ring (figure 1, label 1). Using a second
19mm spanner, tighten the M12 nut (label 7),
taking care to ensure that the shoulder wash-
er is centred over the 17mm-diameter hole in
the plate (label 12).
e) While maintaining the 19mm spanner in place
in the anchoring device ring (figure 1, label 1),
use the torque wrench with a 19mm socket
to tighten the M12 nut (label 7) to the torque
recommended above.
f) Check that the Travflex™ringflex-type anchor-
ing device turns freely around its axis.
g) Stick the warning label (fig 3, lbl. 20) onto the
plate (label 8) as close to the anchor point as
possible.
h) On the label indicating the next inspection
date (label 19), stamp or write in indelible
ink the month and year of the first periodic
inspection and then place this label in the
space marked "aa" on the warning label (la-
bel 20).
i) In the space marked "ae" on the warning
label, write in indelible ink the date of the
equipment's initial entry into service, and
then sign (also in indelible ink) in the box
provided.
IMPORTANT: The period between the initial
entry into service and the first periodic in-
spection should not exceed 12 months.

recommended in figure 4 may incur risks.

6. Prohibited use

It is strictly forbidden:
• To install or use a Tractel
anchoring device without first having been
authorised, trained and recognised as qual-
ified in its use, or otherwise, without the su-
pervision of an authorised operator, trained
and recognised as qualified in use of the
device.
• To use a Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring de-
®
vice if any of the markings are not legible.
• To install or use a Tractel
choring device that has not undergone the pre-
liminary checks.
• To use a Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring de-
®
vice which has not been inspected in the past
12 months by a technician who has given writ-
ten authorisation for its re-use.
• To connect to a Tractel
choring device a fall-arrest system contain-
ing at least one element that has not been
inspected in the past 12 months by a techni-
cian who has given written authorisation for
its re-use.
• To use a Tractel
®
device for any application other than as an
anchoring device to prevent someone falling.
• To attach the fall-arrest system to the Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring device using any
means or fastening point other than the an-
chor ring.
• To use a Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring de-
®
vice in contradiction with the information speci-
fied in section "12. Life cycle".
• To use a travsafe™ PAS and/or travsafe™
ringsafe anchoring device to serve as a fall-ar-
rester for more than one operator.
• To use a travsafe™ PA, travsafe™ PO and/or
travflex™ ringflex anchoring device to serve as
a fall-arrester for more than two operators.
