5 Description and Function
The 4 in1 Controller LS offers further options in the fitting of children, particularly those with long
below-elbow residual limbs or wrist disarticulation amputations.
Its flat, slightly vaulted structural shape allows the Controller to be mounted between inner and
outer socket (Fig. 1). This minimizes the overall length of the prosthesis. The 9E371 Contact Plate
connects to the lamination ring.
The Controller offers four different control options, indicated by coding plugs of different colors.

Warning: Never apply carbon fiber layers in one piece from the wrist area to the electrode area,
as this material is conductive and may interfere with the myoelectric signals.
7 Assembly
Lubricate all contact bushings of the cable and the 4 in1 Controller LS using 633F11 Silicone
Grease.
Insert the coding plug into the controller with the recess fitting into the outwardly curved side,
as shown (Fig. 5). Insert the coding plug completely. Connect the battery.
To change control modes, the battery must be removed and reinserted (voltage cutoff) after
a new coding plug has been inserted. Until this has been done, the 4 in1 Controller LS will be
operated by the previous control option.
Attach the "opening" electrode to 2 (
connection cable of the contact plate and of the battery to the Controller as well (Fig. 3).
Place the 711M50-1 Adapter into the contact plate. The contact plate should audibly engage in
the lamination ring (Fig. 4).
Attach the Controller inside the forearm shell using adhesive tape.
