5. Reinstall the oil filter cover, making sure the bolts
are tightened securely.
Oil Filter Bolt Torque:
12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)
6. Perform steps 5 – 9 of "Engine Oil".
Engine oil after draining and oil filter change:
1.8 l l l l l (1.9 US qt, 1.6 Imp qt)

(6) OUT-SIDE mark

Spark Plug

(Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 43.
Recommended plugs:
Standard: DPR8Z (NGK) or X24GPR–U (DENSO)
For cold climate: (Below 5°C, 41°F)
DPR7Z (NGK) or X22GPR–U (DENSO)
For extended high speed riding:
DPR9Z (NGK) or X27GPR–U (DENSO)
For most riding conditions this spark plug heat range
number is satisfactory. However, if the motorcycle is
going to be operated for extended periods at high
speeds or near maximum power in hot climates, the
spark plug should be changed to a colder heat range
(a higher number).
NOTICE
Never use a spark plug with an improper heat range.
Severe engine damage could result.
