3. STANDARD EQUIPMENT
Inside the box you will fi nd the following components:
1. EB35 Edgebander for pre-glued tapes
2. Moveable support
3. Multiple pusher
4. A box containing:
• Edge loader
• Set of keys
5. Documentation
Optional tools:
Carbide cutter radius 3 and 10º bevel: upper 8540172, lower
8540173 (Fig. 2). Included as standard
Carbide cutter radius 2 and 10º bevel: upper 8540183, lower
8540184 (Fig. 2).
Carbide cutter 45º bevel: upper 8540185, lower 8540186 (Fig. 2).
4. EDGEBANDER DIMENSIONS
(Fig. 1) shows the space occupied by the edgebander.
5. PRE-ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLING THE LOADER
• Remove screws I (Fig. 3).
• Put loader R1 into place and fasten it with screws and was-
hers I.
• Ensure that tape loader rollers N can turn freely.
ASSEMBLING THE MULTIPLE PUSHER
The machine has a multiple multiple pusher Q1 (Fig. 4), which
must fi t into centring devices P1.
CONNECTING THE DUST COLLECTOR
The edgebander EB35 must not be used unless it is connected
to an external dust collection system, as the amount of shavings
created by the trimmer would adversely affect the trim quality,
obstruct the machine's mechanisms and shorten the life of the
cutting tools.
We recommend our dust collector AS382L for edgebander EB35.
This has a high-powered vacuum and a large-capacity dust
collector. It works in accordance with the requirements of the
machine, functioning only during the trimming cycles.
To install the dust collector AS382L, connect the collection
tube, which is included, to collector C3 (Fig. 13) of the machine
and connect its remote control cable to base B3 (Fig. 13) of
the machine. The dust collector must also be connected to an
independent external power source.
To connect the machine's collector to a general installation
with a diameter of (4") 100mm, order the optional attachment
accessory 8545498, reducer with connectors (Fig. 16). The
8
installation must have an aspiration capacity of 1000 m3/h for
the 100-mm (4") diameter.
6. CONNECTING TO THE MAINS
The machine must be connected to a monophase 220-240-V
mains, earthed and with a minimum capacity of 20 A, equipped
with the obligatory protection measures (magneto-thermal and
differential). Connect using the cable supplied.
7. DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTROLS
Control panel A3 of the machine is located nearby the loader R1
(Fig. 5). The general safety switch L is below this, on the side
of the machine housing (Fig. 6 and 7).
General safety switch L (Fig. 7): This is the general on/off switch
for the machine. It has magno-thermal protection, a minimum-
voltage coil and a safety-locking device for use during handling
or repair of the machine. Red indicator light M1 (Fig. 7) lights
up when electrical power is present. In the case of an electrical
surge, the machine switches off automatically, leaving all of its
components without voltage.
Control panel A3 (Fig. 6): Green indicator light M (Fig. 6), lit
when the machine is on.
Temperature control Q (Fig. 6), enabling the user to control the
air temperature of the heater.
Emergency stop button P (Fig. 6). When this button is pressed,
all functions of the machine are automatically stopped. To rever-
se the action, turn stop button P in the direction shown by the
arrow. The machine cannot be turned on again using switch L
(Fig. 6 and 7) if emergency stop button P (Fig. 6) has not been
deactivated.
Control CM1 (Fig. 6) for adjusting excess edge at the front and
back
Position 1: For front and rear cutting. Both ends without ex-
cess.
Position 2: For front cutting, with excess at the back
Position 3: For rear cutting, with excess at the front
Position 4: With excess at both ends of the board
Control CM2 (Fig. 6):
Position 0: Feeder and fan heater disconnected.
Position 1: Turns on the feeder and the fan heater.
Position 2: Turns on only the feeder.
Control CM3 (Fig. 6):
Position 1: Enables the work cycle of both trimmers to be tur-
ned on.
Position 2: Enables the work cycle of only the upper trimmer
to be turned on.
Position 3: Enables the work cycle of only the lower trimmer to
be turned on.
8. MAKING ADJUSTMENTS AND TURNING THE MACHINE ON
WARNING! Before carrying out any adjustments, disconnect
the machine from the mains and lock the switch using safety
cover K (Fig. 7).
Placing the edging: Place a roll of pre-glued edging into loader
R1 (Fig. 5). The height should match the thickness of the board
to be edged. It is advisable that the edge be 3 mm (1/9") higher
to obtain a perfect trim. Leaving any more excess will result in
a less satisfactory fi nish.
Selecting the edging thickness: Place lever A (Fig. 6) in the
position that matches the thickness of the selected edging:
Position 1: For edgings up to 1-mm thick.
Position 2: For edgings 1-2 mm thick.
Position 3: For edgings 2-3 mm thick.
To work with the machine set at position 3 (i.e., for edgings of 2-3
mm thick), the user must also place excess adjustment control
CM1 (Fig. 6) in position 4, with excess at both ends of the board.
This is because the cutting quality at these thicknesses is not
