5.1.2 Locking the wheel

Rotate the rim on the tyre changer Flange until
the driving pin 1 is inside one of the rim concentric
holes.
Centre the wheel on the relevant support plate.
For versions with Automatic Locking

Insert the locking tool (2) in the middle of the rim
and push it down.
Press the pedal (3) Fig. 5.1-5 and lock the tool
on the rim.
On the tool there is a locking indicator (4). The slot
(4A) is positioned with the "green" colour near the
reference fi xed pin when the wheel is released
and moves to the "red" position when the wheel is
correctly locked. During the locking phase, keep
the tool pressed and press the pedal until locking
the tool.
For versions with Manual Locking

Place, on the Quick-Clamping Hub Nut with Pin
clamping device (5), the suitable cone for the rim
in use.
• Insert the complete Quick-Clamping Hub Nut locking
tool in the centre of the rim.
• Raise the peg (6) at the head of the Pin and fully
insert the lock unit in the wheel holder seat.
• Release the central Peg (6) and make sure that the
locking spheres engage in the relative seats.
Move the taper and the Quick-Clamping Hub Nut closer
to the wheel, freeing the ratchets (7) of the nut itself.
• Tighten the nut all the way after opening the operating
handles (8).
The wheel will be locked and ready for the
tyre Mounting/Demounting operations.
Always lubricate the contact surface between tyre and
rim on both of them.
