Pump, chassis and cardan shaft assembly
stress to which it is subjected during operation. It must also be equipped with coupling points for handling purposes.
When a trolley is purchased from Caprari (C), the characteristic dimensions can be found in chapter 11 "Dimensions and weights".
Comply with the following instructions when assembling:
various components);
a minimum covering between the guard and protective counter-guard has been guaranteed, as required by the relative
safety provisions (consult chapter 11 "Dimensions and weights" for further information);
- make sure that the assembly is complete with all the necessary protections, in compliance with the safety provisions in
merit.

USE AND MANAGEMENT
6.1
Starting
It is forbidden to operate the machine unless all the protections with which it must be equipped in order to comply with the safety
requisites, have been correctly installed.
ATTENTION
- the pump is supplied without oil. Pour lubricant into the gearbox before starting (consult paragraph 6.3 "Maintenance" for the relative procedure);
- ensure that the pump and tractor are correctly aligned. The operating angle of the telescopic cardan shaft must be less than 15°, particularly if it is
not the homokinetic type;
- before starting, always prime the pump by venting off the air in the pipes and in the pump itself.
If the pump is not installed below noted head, it will be necessary to either install a displacement pump for priming purposes or to carry out the
following operations:
1) remove the plugs from the delivery and suction ports (when installed) and pour in water;
3) close the delivery port plug when the pump is completely full.
Start the unit with the sluice valve almost completely shut, then gradually increase the rotation speed until reaching full running rate. Now open the
sluice valve until the required operating conditions have been obtained.
ATTENTION
If the unit is unable to start (no "take-off"), do not persist as this could only damage it. Identify the malfunction and repair.
6.2
Running and inspections: ATTENTION
Once installed, the product will require no particular maintenance. To ensure continuously regular operation it is, however, necessary to carry out
regular preventive maintenance inspections on each new installation or at least once every 600÷700 hours service. Check the following items at that
time:
Caprari S.p.A.);
- adjust the packing gland by evenly working on both nuts in order to ensure a slight drip during operation;
- make sure that the rotation speed is not excessive (consult the "Limits to operation" table in chapter 10 "Technical data");
- make sure that operation is not excessively irregular. This could be caused by operation at a low rate and/or by the cardan shaft having been set at
an excessive angle;
- make sure that the oil temperature is around 80 °C or less;
"Maintenance" for the relative procedure);
Also carry out all the prescriptions pertaining to the tractor and cardan shaft at the required intervals, as indicated in the relative use and
maintenance manuals.
Proceed as indicated in this manual if faults are discovered (consult the "Troubleshooting" chapter).
