1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Description of symbols
The instructions in this manual concerning safety are marked by this symbol. Failure to comply with these instructions could
expose personnel to health risks.
The instructions in this manual concerning electrical hazards are marked by this symbol. Failure to comply with these instructions
could expose personnel to risks of an electrical nature.
ATTENTION
Instructions preceded by this word concern the main recommendations for correct installation, operation, preservation and
disposal of the electric pump itself. To ensure safe and reliable management of the electric pump throughout its working life it
is, however, essential to comply with all the indications in the manual.
Read the use and maintenance manual.
1.2 General information:
Make sure that the items listed in the delivery note correspond to the components actually received.
Consult the instructions given in the supplied documentation before working with the unit.
As they are an integral part of the electric pump unit, the instruction manual and all the documentation supplied, including a copy of the decals, must
be kept with care and be ready to hand for consultation throughout the entire life of the electric pump unit. For example, the additional decals can be
affixed to the electric panel.
No part of this documentation may be duplicated in any form without the manufacturer's explicit prior authorization.
The pump decal and motor decal indicate: the type, series of the product and the main operating data.
1.3 Recommendations:
Careful reading of the documentation supplied with the product will allow you to work in full safety.
The following instructions refer to the standard version of the electric pump unit operating in normal conditions. The information given may not fully
correspond to the product in your possession if this features special fittings, which can be identified in the product's code (the manual will be integrated
with additional information when necessary).
As it is our policy to continuously improve the products, the data in the documentation and the actual product itself may be liable to modifications without
the manufacturer being obliged to give prior notice.
Failure to comply with all the indications given in this documentation, improper use or unauthorized modification of the electric pump unit will void the
warranty and relieve the manufacturer from all deriving damages to persons, animals or property.
WARNING Never allow the unit to run dry.
2. SAFETY:
Before proceeding with any operation involving the product, make sure that the electrical parts of the
installation in which the work is to be carried out have been disconnected from the electricity main.
The electric pump unit described in this manual is designed for use in industry, aqueducts, for irrigation and similar purposes. It must therefore be
handled, installed, serviced, repaired and disposed of by specialized personnel possessing adequate qualifications and equipped with the right
tools. Such personnel must have studied and understood the contents of this manual and any other documentation supplied with the product. This
latter can be operated by unspecialized personnel so long as they conform to the previously described conditions.
Comply with all the safety, accident prevention and anti-pollution instructions given in the manual and with any other more restrictive local provisions
during each individual operation.
For safety reasons and to ensure compliance with the warranty conditions, the purchaser is forbidden to use the electric pump unit following a fault
or sudden variation in the performances of the product.
The installation must be made so as to prevent dangerous accidental contacts for persons, animals and property with the electric pump unit.
Alarm systems, monitoring and maintenance procedures must be arranged so as to avoid all forms of hazard should the electric pump unit operate
in an inefficient way.
Consult chapter 4 'Handling and storage' for instructions about how to handle and store the unit safely.
3. DESCRIPTION AND USE OF THE PRODUCT:
3.1 Technical and operating specifications:
Submersed electric pumps spin in the anti-clockwise direction (when viewed from the delivery side) and are directly coupled to special
asynchronous submersed motors.
Type M...4 submersed motors are supplied filled with oil, ready for use and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (U.S.A.). If faults occur,
oil could leak into the pumped water.
When the electric pump is installed in compliance with the instructions provided in this manual and with the relative diagrams, the acoustic pressure
level issued by the machine within the envisaged operating range will never reach 70 dB (A). The noise level was measured in compliance with ISO
3746 while, as established by Directive 2006/42/EC, the measuring points were 1 meter from the reference surface of the machine and at a height
of 1.6 meters from the ground or access platform. The maximum value was evenly distributed around the machine.
3.2

Fields of use:

The standard version of the electric pump unit was designed to pump clear water from deep wells and from storage tanks.
