MINIMIZE CHAIN SHOT
WARNING:
MACHINE
• Do not use machine unless equipped with chain catchers and chain shot guards.
• Do not use machine unless it contains appropriate window enclosures.
• Do not use machine unless it contains snow holes near the saw box's cutting system
CHAIN
• Never re-use a saw chain that has been broken or repaired twice.
• Never use a saw chain that has damaged or broken components.
• Never use a saw chain that has excessive stretch.
• Never use a saw chain with loose rivet joints.
• Never replace chain components with components from another manufacturer.
OPERATOR
• Be aware of the Shot Zone. Do not begin a cut when you or anyone else is with in the shot zone (Illustration A.1).
• Cut close to the ground, thus reducing the travel distance in case chain shot occurs.
• Comply with all warnings for bystander distance requirements.
• Ensure all equipment guard, enclosures, and safety measures are in place.
