12. Using the microscope (FL)

12.1 Centering the mercury bulb

Only IM-3F / IM-3FL4
• Wait around 5 minutes before proceeding with
this operation to allow the bulb to properly
warm up.
1. Turn on the HBO mercury bulb by operating the
power supply switch ①. (Fig. 39)
2. Turn the nosepiece into an empty position
(without objectives) and remove the protective
cap, or remove an objective from the nosepiece.
3. Place a piece of white paper on the stage and
insert the filter cube "B" into the optical path. (Fig.
40)
4. Acting on the focus screw of the collector lens ②
and on the centering screws ③ try to obtain the
light spot of the bulb's arc. (Fig. 41-42)
