› Undo the nut and remove the bolt.
Place the cover cap (D) onto the protruding shaft of the adapter and then press it in.
Please note: Position the cover cap such that its recess (see arrow) is
facing the vehicle interior (the widest side of the cover cap must be
facing the side window) and such that the cover cap lies over the
entire surface on the C-pillar trim.
Create the attachment point for the trunk grille in the C-pillar trim on the other side of
the vehicle in the same way.
How to create the attachment points for attaching the trunk grille to the lug-
gage compartment lining:

› Carefully position the template (J) to mark where the hole is to be drilled in the luggage
compartment lining, as described on the template.
Please note: Note the difference between the templates (left and
right).
› Use the pin to mark the point where you need to drill.
Please note: When marking where the hole is to be drilled, hold the pin
at right angles to the luggage compartment lining; likewise, when
drilling the hole, hold the drill at right angles to the luggage compart-
ment lining.
› Fold the template back, use a suitable felt-tip pen to make the mark on the luggage com-
partment lining clearer, and then remove the template.
› At the point you have marked, drill a hole with a diameter of 3 mm.
Please note: Check that the position where you intend to drill the hole
is correct by moving the pin with its end inserted into the hole in the
panel under the luggage compartment lining to and fro.
› Use the hole saw to drill a hole with a diameter of 22 mm.
› Check the same position for both holes. Using a suitable tool (blade), enlarge the hole to a
diameter of 25 mm such that it perfectly lines up with the hole in the panel.
Caution: Only drill the luggage compartment lining. If the hole has
been drilled correctly in the lining, it should match up with the hole in
the body panel underneath the lining. Make sure that you do not
damage the luggage compartment lining in any way.
› The procedure for riveting the rivet nut (C) in the hole in the body panel underneath the lug-
gage compartment lining and then screwing in the adapter (G) is the same as for the holes
underneath the C-pillar trim.
Place the cover cap (F) onto the protruding shaft of the adapter and then press it in.
Please note: Position the cover cap such that it lies completely flat
against the luggage compartment lining.
