This extremely large locomotive places particular
demands on your model railroad layout. Please
check the following points before operating the
locomotive for the first time, in order to avoid damage
to the locomotive or to your layout:
G
The minimum usable radius is 356 mm / 14".
We do recommend that you use a larger radius
(500 mm / approx. 20" or greater) if possible.
G
The loading gauge or required clearance for this
locomotive is wider and higher than the dimensions
specified for European model railroads. Catenary
masts and signal must therefore be mounted as
far as possible from the center of the rails. Also,
pay attention to signal mechanisms, turnout levers
or turnout lanterns on turnout mechanisms that
could be hit by the locomotive, depending on how
they are installed. Also, be careful about tunnel
portals, bridge railings and station platforms on
curved areas of track.
G
The locomotive should be run through turnouts
at moderate speed. This is particularly important
for turnouts with a smaller radius (356 mm / 14")
and for curved turnouts.
G
Transitions to ascending or descending grades
should not be located directly after a curved section
of track. If necessary, move the transition point
one track length away from the curved track.
10
We recommend that you do a careful test run with
someone to help you.
The maintenance work necessary with normal ope-
ration of this locomotive is described on the following
pages. Use the insert from the locomotive's packaging
as a rest for the locomotive when working on its
underside. The high-efficiency motor and the drive
shafts require no maintenance. Please see your
authorized Trix dealer for repairs and spare parts.
No warranty or damage claims shall be accepted in
those cases where parts neither manufactured nor
approved by Trix have been installed in Trix products
or where Trix products have been converted in such
a way that the non-Trix parts or the conversion were
causal to the defects and / or damage arising. The
burden of presenting evidence and the burden of
proof thereof, that the installation of non-Trix parts or
the conversion in or of Trix products was not causal
to the defects and / or damage arising, is borne by
the person and/or company responsible for the
installation and / or conversion, or by the customer.
