5. Sanitize – Before first use & once per day*
Supplies needed:
• Clean pot for boiling water
• Drinking-quality water
• Tongs
Parts to sanitize:
• Breast shields
• Breast milk bottles/
containers
• Lids
• Yellow valve heads
• Connectors
• White membranes
Note
* Sterile kits are ready to use and do not
require washing or sanitizing
prior to first use.
Warning
Breast pump kits are a personal care
item intended for use by a single user
only and should not be shared between
users.

• Separate all parts that come in
contact with breast milk.
Note
Sanitize breast pump kit parts
once daily.
