Magnet ring, installation

Each transducer requires a magnet,
which must be ordered separately.

We recommend that magnet rings
be installed in or against non-mag-

Wiring

Important wiring note:
The system and the con-
trol cabinet must be at the
same ground potential.
To ensure electromagnetic com-
patibility (EMC), which Balluff
verifies by the CE Marking, the
following points must be strictly
observed.
BTL transducer and controller
must be connected using
shielded cable.
Shield: Copper-stranded mesh,
80 % coverage.

When routing the cable between
the transducer, controller and
power supply, avoid proximity to
high voltage lines to prevent noise
coupling. Especially critical is in-
ductive noise caused by AC har-
monics (e.g. from phase-control
devices), against which the cable
shield provides only limited protec-
tion.

The shield in the BKS connector
( ➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ Fig. 4-3) must be connected to
the connector housing; see in-
structions included with the con-
nector.
The cable shield must be grounded
on the controller side (connected
with the protection ground).
Refer to table 4-1 for wiring as-
signments. Connections on the
control side depend on the output
type.
