6 OPTION KITS AND ACCESSORIES
This chapter presents the option kits that can be incorporated to the product from the factory.
6.1 BLANKING
It is a feature that allows an object larger then capability of the light curtain, being in the monitoring
area without switching to OFF STATE the safety outputs of the light curtain. The LSP light
curtain adopts blanking. This is a technique where the area in which blanking is programmed
can be moved during operation; however the programmed number of beams must always be
blocked with the tolerance of one (1) beam. If the object is removed, the light curtain realizes
its dismissal, and the outputs are switched to OFF STATE. The blanking programming of the
LSP light curtain allows inhibiting a combination of non-sequential beams, ranging from 1 to 3
beams. The first beam in the monitoring area realizes the optical synchronization between the
emitter and receiver units, thereby preventing its use as blanking. It is located right after the
diagnostic window above the yellow area indicated on the front protection.
The use of the blanking function changes the resolution of the light curtain as shown in the table
below. This new resolution should be used to determine the safety distance. Run the calculation
of the safety distance according to the programmed resolution.
