Tm = Machine downtime measured in seconds from the end of both element and actuator
device power down.
This time is measured at the maximum speed of the dangerous closing.
This information should be obtained in the manual or nameplate or the manufacturer of the
machine or measured directly on the machine.
ATTENTION!
It should be considered clearances and brake wear of the machine.
Is recommended, the actual measurement of this time, through equipment
designed for this purpose.
Tc = LSP response time in seconds.
C = Intrusion distance.
When use Light Curtain (LSP14 and LSP29), for the intrusion distance must be consider the
penetration factor, which takes into account the diameter of the light beam and its detection
capability.
C = 8 (d -14), but not less than 0, where: d is the detection capability of the light curtain. Use
d = 14 for the LSP14 and use d = 29 for the LSP29.
If use Multiple Beam Device (LSP300), the value is fix C = 850, because the standard arm
reach is 850 mm.
Example with Light Curtain LSP14-700, with 700 mm protective height and resolution of 14 mm.
K = 2,000 – value considered for Light Curtain.
Tm = 0.07 – value example of machine stop speed.
Tc = 0.051 – response time value of model selected.
d = 14 – detection capability.
Then, replace the formula, we have:
S = 2,000 x (0.07 + 0.051) + 8 x (14 - 14).
S = 242 mm.
