ENG Felting Accessory
With the HUSQVARNA VIKING
create the most amazing felted embroideries. The effect is created when
together. The effect of the embellishment can be changed dramatically
by using different types of fabric/wool.
Prepare for felting
• Remove the needle. (Ill. 1)
• Attach a felting needle.
• Loosen the presser foot ankle screw
completely and remove the ankle.
Place the felting foot around the presser
bar; attach it with the screw provided.
(Ill. 1)
• Put the felting bobbin in the bobbin case
(this is to avoid the "Bobbin thread low"
alarm). (Ill. 2)
• Place the felting needle plate cover above
the feed teeth and make sure the pins on the
felting needle plate cover snap into the sewing
machine stitch plate. (Felting needles are
shorter than regular needles, this extra plate
forces the fabric closer to the needle making
sure the fabric is felted properly).
• Deactivate "Sensor Q-Foot" in the SET-menu.
Fabrics
Just about any fabric can be felted with the Felting Embroidery Set,
however, some fabrics tend to give a more favorable result when
embellished or laundered.
such as wool and wool roving. The best characteristic for fabrics is a
napped or textured surface.
have a smooth surface.
The effect differs from fabric to fabric. Always test on a piece of material
before you start.
Hooping
When embroidering with the felting needles, no threads are used. The
fabric is hooped with the right side facing down.
When embroidering free-standing designs or when using wool roving, a
water soluble stabilizer is needed. (See descriptions to the right).
