Installation

The basic layout
includes a gas
cylinder (A),
storage cylinder
(B), high-pres-
sure hose (C)
and booster
pump (D).
To connect mul-
tiple storage cyl-
inders with the
booster pump, they must be connected with a high-
pressure multiple port hose (C).

Before use

NOTICE
Please observe the following points during installation.
Only install proper, clean components free from oil and
grease. Do not tighten screw connections by excessive
force. Use conventional wrenches (without extension).
Only use genuine Dräger spare parts and tools. When
connecting the storage and oxygen cylinders, make
sure that sealing rings are in proper condition.
 Take the pump out of the transport container and fit
the pump lever.
 Place the pump on level ground.
 Protect all pump components and especially the con-
nections from dirt.
 Protect the stainless steel components made from
304/440 B against sea water. Check the sealing of
the booster pump and installation.
 The operation of the pump should be checked at the
charging pressure gauge when charging is started
and in case of small gas cylinders.

During use

NOTICE
The differential pressure between storage cylinder and
gas cylinder must not exceed 80 bar during pumping.
 Close all valves.

Charging methods

The gas cylinders must be charged using two methods:
– overflowing and/or
– pumping.
Pre-charge the cylinders with the gas from the storage
cylinders by means of the overflow process. The re-
quired final pressure in the oxygen cylinder is reached
by pumping with the manual booster pump. If multiple
storage cylinders are connected, use a specific schema
for the overflow process (cascade connection, depend-
ing on the number of storage cylinders).
The gas heats up as a result of compression, which
means that the cylinder is charged with max. 220 bar in
order to reach the required charging pressure of 200 bar
after the gas cylinder has cooled down.
Overflow charging method
 Connect the storage cylinder to the pump inlet (I).
 Connect the gas cylinder to the outlet (O).
 Slowly and fully open the valve of the storage cylin-
der, watch the pressure at the pressure gauge (M1).
 Slowly and fully open the inlet valve (1) at the pump.
 Slowly and fully open the valve of the gas cylinder,
watch the pressure at the pressure gauge (M2).
 Slowly and fully open the outlet valve (2) at the
pump. The gas flows into the gas cylinder (audible).
