Step 3: T-Series digital link wiring
T-Series digital link wiring can be wired as NECR Class 1
or Class 2. Consult applicable national and local codes for
compliance.
Lutron recommends using two different colors for T1 and T2.
This will prevent wiring mistakes where several loop wires are
co-located. Use the following instructions for wiring the T-Series
digital link.
WARNING: Shock Hazard. May result in serious injury
or death. Do not wire when live. Turn off power to all
power feeds via circuit breaker or isolator before wiring or

servicing.
Buttons and LEDs in the unit are used for troubleshooting. If
wiring is exposed when accessing buttons and LEDs, the unit
must be accessed by a certified electrician, following local
codes.
1. Turn power off.
2. Remove metal outer panel cover.
3. Remove internal plastic line voltage shield.
4. Wire the T-Series digital link from the T-Series ESN unit terminals
to all Lutron T-Series LED drivers.
5. Reinstall internal plastic line voltage shield.
6. Turn on the circuit breaker or isolator to power up. The POWER
LED lights green when powered up.
7. The Link 1 and Link 2 LEDs should flash green. See Using LEDs
to troubleshoot on page 9 for more details.
8. The T-Series ESN unit outputs T-Series ESN unit compliant voltage
levels (18 V-). Use a voltage meter to confirm this voltage.
9. To verify functionality and wiring of T-Series digital link(s), press
and hold the "Test" button until the "Test" LED flashes green*.
You can press the Link 1 and Link 2 buttons to cycle each link
through low-end, high-end, flashing, and off, respectively. To test
color, high-end will send the lights to the coolest color, low-end
will send it to the warmest color, flashing will alternate between
warm and cool colors, and off will turn off the lights. Upon
completion, press and hold the Test button until the "Test" LED
turns off.
10. Turn power off.
* If "Test" LED flashes red, check all wiring.
