Sterilization
All devices must be processed in the completely open position (i.e. flushports, jaws,
etc.) to allow sterilant contact of all surfaces. Note that applicable device disassembly
should not require any mechanical tooling (i.e. screwdriver, pliers etc.) unless otherwise
indicated. All devices with concave surfaces shall be configured so that water pooling does
not occur.
Prevacuum Steam Sterilization Parameters
Preconditioning Pulses: 3
Temperature: 132°C (270°F)
Exposure Time: 4 minutes
Dry Time: 30 minutes
Sterilization Configuration: Cleared (i.e. FDA, etc.)
Sterilization Wrap (2 layer 1-ply or 1 layer 2-ply)
Sterilization for outside United States Market

Storage
After sterilization, devices must remain in sterilization packaging and be stored in a clean,
dry environment.
Assembly Instructions
Assembly (Applicable to catalog numbers SP90-1050, SP90-1150, SP90-1250,
E89-5100B, E89-5300B, 89-5100B, 89-5105B, 89-5200B, 89-5300B)
Assembly
1. Open sterile packaging and remove scissor tips.
2. Ensure scissor tips are closed and protective guard is on.
3. Grasp device shaft behind tip of device.
4. Open handle to fully extend center rod. (This is best accomplished with shaft vertical
and handle end down).
5. Slide rod into scissors slot.
6. Push scissor tips down (toward device) and hand tighten scissors by turning
clockwise.
7. Remove protective guard. Device is ready for use.
Disassembly
1. With blades closed, replace protective guard on scissor tips.
2. Grasp device shaft below scissors with shaft vertical and handle end down.
3. Grasp black area of scissor tips and loosen by turning counterclockwise.
4. Slide scissors off of device rod.
5. Discard used scissor tips in accordance with hospital policy.
