2.12 - Existing risks and necessary actions
Even with the use of appropriate features and built-in safety protections, some
residual risks remain while using this machine. This is due to some functional
components such as drums and drum blades that need to be partially exposed
for proper machine operation.
The following list shows the risks involved in using this machine and the measures
that must be taken by users.
Never feed the machine manually.
The drums pull the material before you can
release it from your hands and you can be
pulled into the machine. Risk of serious
accident with limb amputation and/or death.
HOW TO ELIMINATE THE RISK:
It is forbidden to feed this machine manually,
it is not proper for this. Whenever necessary,
use a chopper equipped with a feeding chute
suitable for this purpose.
Never try to clean or remove any
material from the running machine.
Any contact with the moving drums and you
can be pulled into the machine. Risk of serious
accident with limb amputation and/or death.
HOW TO ELIMINATE THE RISK:
Never attempt to clean or perform any
maintenance or adjustment when the
machine is in motion. Turn off the tractor,
remove the ignition key, and wait until the
machine is without any movement before
cleaning, adjusting, or servicing the harvester.
