G E N E R A L
1. Look after this manual for any further consultation.
2. After unpacking, make sure that the appliance is intact without signs of damage caused by transport. If in doubt, stop using the
appliance and take it to an authorised IMETEC service centre. All packing materials (plastic wrapping, cardboard box, etc.) are
potentially dangerous and must be kept out of children s reach.
3. Before connecting the appliance to the power supply make sure that its rating corresponds to that of the power supply. The plate
is on the bottom of the appliance.
4. This device must only be used for the purpose for which it was designed, that is, as an iron. Any other use is to be considered
improper and therefore hazardous. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage caused by improper, incorrect
and unreasonable use of the appliance.
5. If there is a fault and/or the appliance operates irregularly, switch it off and do not tamper with it. For any repairs, only contact an
authorised IMETEC service centre and ask for original spare parts. Failure to comply with the above may impair the safety of the
appliance.
6. Should you decide not to use this appliance anymore, make it inoperative by cutting the power cord after removing the plug from
the socket. We also recommend making all potentially dangerous parts of the appliance harmless, particularly for children who
might use the appliance as a toy.
7. In order to avoid any dangerous overheating, we recommend fully unwinding the power cord.
8. The power cord must never be replaced by the customer. If the cord is damaged and needs to be replaced, contact an authorised
IMETEC service centre.
9. The iron must be used on and rested on a stable surface. When the iron is resting on its iron rest censure that the work surface
is stable. The iron must not be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if there are water leaks.
10. The electrical safety of this appliance can be guaranteed only if it is correctly connected to an efficient earth circuit as indicated
by current electrical safety regulations. It is necessary that you check this fundamental safety requirement. If in doubt, ask an
authorised IMETEC service centre to inspect the circuit. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage caused by
failure to earth the equipment.
More specifically
let children play with the appliance.
DO NOT
let anyone (including children) who is unable to operate the appliance safely (due to a mental, physical or
sensory handicap, inexperience or incompetence) use this appliance unless under strict supervision or with
the help of a responsible person.
NEVER
immerse the iron, cable or plug in any liquid.
DO NOT
leave the hot iron touching fabrics or very inflammable surfaces.
DO NOT
leave the appliance unnecessarily plugged in. Disconnect the plug from the mains when the appliance is not
being used.
NEVER
touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
DO NOT
use the appliance with bare feet.
DO NOT
pull the power cord or the appliance in order to pull the plug out of the socket.
DO NOT
leave the appliance exposed to the weather (rain, sun, etc.).
DO NOT
leave the iron without supervision when it is connected to the power supply.
DO NOT
fill the reservoir with water before removing the plug from the socket.
All devices must be disposed of in compliance with the instructions provided by the European Standard n.
2002/96/EC. The recyclable materials used in this appliance can be recovered to prevent environmental
degradation. For further information, please contact your local waste disposal authority or your retailer.
