HOW TO OPERATE THE PRODUCT
HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS APPLICABLE FOR THE FM PRO HEADBAND/HELMET MOUNTED
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
These hearing protectors are equipped with an integrated FM radio receiver which operates over the FM frequency band.
FUNCTION KEYS (Illustration G)
On/off (O) (G1)
Switch on the electronics by pressing the key (O). To switch off, press the same key (O) and hold for 2 seconds.
Volume adjustment, (+) (–) (G2)
When powered up, the default mode is volume mode. Adjust the volume with the + or – button on the right cup. When in volume mode, pressing
the desired directional key up (+) or down will adjust the volume. When switched on, the volume starts at the same setting as when it was last
switched off. The volume has four fixed settings. When the highest volume setting has been reached, pressing the key again will start the volume
from the lowest setting.
Setting the radio station, (+) (–) (G2)
To get to frequency mode, press the central button (O) (G1). The FM radio frequency band is 88–108 MHz. Station tuning is automatic. Pressing
the desired directional key down (–) or up (+) will tune the radio to the next station and then stop. If there is no action during more than 5 sec, the
frequency mode will switch automatically back to volume mode. A short beep will be heard whenever a key is pressed. A long beep is heard at
each end of the frequency band. The FM Radio starts at the latest used station. This memory is erased when the batteries are replaced.
Frequency Hopping
To hop to the higher end of the frequency band press the (+) and (O) keys simultaneously, and to hop to the lower end press the (–) and (O) keys
simultaneously.
Audio Input (AUX) (G3)
The product has one input, a 3.5-mm stereo socket, for connecting an external audio source such as a communication radio, hunting radio,
mobile phone, CD player, radio, etc. If there is a call on the audio input, the FM radio is automatically muted and remains muted until around 10
seconds after the end of the call. If there is a pause in the call lasting more than 10 seconds, the FM radio setting function will automatically be
restored. The circuit must not be subjected to a signal greater than 5 volts to prevent permanent damage. If the audio signal does not exceed 95
mVrms (rms = root mean square of signal strength), the sound pressure level inside the hearing protector will not exceed 82 dB(A). Note! Please
see Table 5 for more detailed information.
HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS APPLICABLE FOR THE CUTOFF PRO HEADBAND/HELMET MOUNTED
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
These hearing protectors are equipped with electronics for reproducing ambient sounds, known as the Level Dependent function. Ambient
sound is captured by two externally mounted microphones (Illustration G4) and reproduced by speakers inside the cup at a safe level. The sound
is reproduced in stereo to preserve or improve direction location. This function is intended for use in environments where there is a need to hear
ambient sound, such as warning signals, conversation, traffic, etc.

does not exceed 865 mVrms (rms = root mean square of signal strength), the sound pressure level inside the hearing protector will not exceed 82
dB(A). Note! Please see Table 5 for more detailed information.

LED function (G3) – CutOff Pro LED only
The product is equipped with one LED indicator. It starts to flash when the user has switched the CutOff function of the hearing protector on.
The LED function has 2 flashing modes:
- a Normal Mode to indicate when the headset is switched on;
- a Low Battery Mode with a 2 times faster flashing sequence compared to Normal Mode (when about 10–20 hours battery life remains); Flashing
LED indicator does not confirm correct operation of level dependent function.
