Periodic Maintenance
The following steps will assist in maintaining
optimal performance of the LCS.
Check Valves
Occasionally inspect the flexible check valves at
the bottom of the LCS housing, and remove any
debris caught between the sealing surfaces. See
the Exploded Parts Diagram.
Housing
Periodically check the housing for debris when
the basket is removed. When removing debris
from the housing, ensure that no air enters the
housing and suction hoses.
Pool Filtration Pump
Clean the pool filter regularly to keep the
pool cleaner and the LCS operating at
maximum efficiency.
Storage and Winterizing
Never store the LCS in direct sunlight. When
storing for the winter, disconnect and drain the
suction hoses. Remove the LCS from the pool
and take out the drain plugs so the water can
drain from the float assembly. Turn over to
ensure all water is removed from the housing.
Reinstall the drain plugs.
Troubleshooting
For best results, follow the troubleshooting
solutions in the order they are listed. Refer to the
exploded parts diagram for part references.
Action:
The pool pump cavitates when the
LCS is operating.
Solution:
1. Divert some flow through the
skimmer and adjust the flow to the
cleaner. If flow to the LCS or
cleaner is insufficient, reinstall the
LCS directly into the pool skimmer.
Action:
The LCS is not collecting debris.
Solution:
1. Verify that the LCS basket is clean.
2. Verify the pump basket and pool
filter are clean.
3. Verify that the pool cleaner is
operating properly. See the pool
cleaner owner's manual.
4. Verify that the float assembly is
full of water.
5. Ensure the regulator sleeve moves
up and down freely, and no debris
is stuck between the sleeve and
the housing.
6. Inspect the flexible check valves
at the bottom of the housing and
remove any debris caught
between the sealing surfaces.
7. Turn the swivel (#3) on the LCS
while it is operating to dislodge
any trapped debris.
8. Turn the flow regulator knob on
the bottom of the housing slightly
counterclockwise until the LCS
performance is improved. Verify
the cleaner also has enough water
flow to operate.
Action:
The pool cleaner appears sluggish
or has stopped working.
Solution:
1. Verify that the LCS basket is clean.
2. Verify the pump basket and pool
filter are clean.
3. Verify that the pool cleaner is
receiving the recommended
amount of flow. If necessary,
adjust the flow regulator knob at
the bottom of the housing.
4. Consult the pool cleaner owner's
manual for further troubleshooting
information.
Action:
The pool cleaner hose tangles
around the LCS.
Solution:
1. Verify the LCS swivel (#3) is
allowed to turn freely.
2. Relocate the LCS one hose
section closer to the pool wall or
pool skimmer.
