To repeat the same scenario, repackage the pads as described below, then
begin again by pulling the green handle or pressing the On/Off button. If you
do this within one hour after the last training use, the defibrillator will
automatically use the previously selected scenario. To select a different
scenario, press the i-button. After replacing the battery, the defibrillator will
default to scenario number 1.
DEFIBRILLATOR PERFORMANCE DURING TRAINING
When a training scenario is running, the defibrillator behaves exactly as it would
during actual emergency use, providing voice instructions, one or more
simulated shocks, pauses for CPR, optional CPR guidance, etc.
For safety reasons, certain defibrillator features are not functional while the
training pads cartridge is installed:
The defibrillator cannot be used for actual patient care; it cannot
analyze patient heart rhythm or deliver a shock.
It will not perform the battery insertion and periodic self-tests.
If it is not used (no buttons are pressed, or the cartridge handle is not
pulled) for one hour, the defibrillator will start "chirping" to alert the
user to either continue the training use or remove the training pads
cartridge and install a HeartStart SMART Pads cartridge.
If the i-button is pressed while the defibrillator is in training standby
mode, the defibrillator will announce that it is training. If the i-button is
pressed a second time, the defibrillator will tell you the number of the
current training scenario. A third press of the i-button will allow you to
select another scenario.
NOTE: If the battery power becomes low during training, the defibrillator
will tell you to replace the battery immediately. It will begin chirping, and the
blue i-button will start blinking. If you press the blue i-button or the green
On/Off button, the defibrillator will repeat the instruction to replace the
battery.
AFTER USING THE TRAINING PADS CARTRIDGE
After you have finished using the training pads cartridge, press and hold the
On/Off button to turn off the defibrillator. Remember that using the training
