1.1

General safety instructions

– Before using this product, carefully read these instructions
for use and those of the associated products.
– Strictly follow the instructions for use. The user must fully
understand and strictly observe the instructions. Use the
product only for the purposes specified in the intended use
section of this document.
– Do not dispose of the instructions for use. Ensure that they
are stored and used appropriately by the user.
– Only trained and competent users are permitted to use
this product.
– Use only genuine Dräger spare parts and accessories.
Otherwise, the proper functioning of the product may be
impaired.
– Notify Dräger in the event of any component fault or
failure.
– Comply with all local and national rules and regulations
associated with this product.
– Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify
the product.
These instructions for use can be downloaded in other
languages from the Technical Documentation Database
(www.draeger.com/ifu) in electronic form or obtained free of
charge as a printed copy from Dräger.
Use in areas subject to explosion hazards
Devices or components for use in explosion-hazard areas
which have been tested and approved according to national,
European or international explosion protection regulations
may only be used under the conditions specified in the
approval and with consideration of the relevant legal
regulations. The devices or components may not be modified
in any manner. The use of faulty or incomplete parts is
forbidden. The appropriate regulations must be observed at
all times when carrying out repairs on these devices or
components.

Product-specific safety instructions

X-plore 8000 helmet
– Replace the helmet after a severe impact or if damaged.
– Do not modify or remove any parts.
– Always replace the internal helmet components in full.
– The helmet can be damaged by certain substances (e.g.
petrol, paint, labels, aerosol spray, cleaning agents).
X-plore 8000 bump cap
– This is not an industrial safety helmet.
– This bump cap does not provide protection against falling
or thrown objects or moving suspended loads.
– This bump cap should not be used in place of an industrial
safety helmet that complies with EN 397.

– This bump cap is designed to absorb the energy of an
impact by partially destroying or damaging the bump cap
shell or internal helmet components. This damage might
not necessarily be visible. Therefore always replace any
bump cap after a strong impact.
– For adequate protection, this bump cap must fit properly
or be adjusted to the user's head size.
– If original parts of the bump cap are modified or removed,
the bump cap will not provide adequate protection.
– Do not modify the bump cap to fit parts that are not
recommended by Dräger.
– Only use paints, solvents, adhesives or self-adhesive
labels for the bump cap that are specified in these
instructions for use.
