NOTE: As long as the battery and training pads are not removed, you can
delay the training session using the selected scenario for up to one hour.
After one hour, the blue i-button will start blinking, and the defibrillator will
start chirping to alert the user to either continue the training use or unplug
the training pads and connect a set of HeartStart SMART Pads II.

TO RUN A TRAINING SCENARIO

To run the selected training
scenario, treat the training pads
exactly as you would the SMART
Pads II, using the Adult or
Infant/Child Pads Placement
Guide (shown at right) or a CPR
training manikin with an External
Manikin Adapter M5089A to
simulate the patient. (Illustrated instructions for applying the manikin adapter to
a training manikin are provided with the Adapter.)
1. If you are training in infant/child defibrillation, insert the Infant/Child Key
into the defibrillator.
2. Press the On/Off button to turn on the
defibrillator.
3. Remove the HeartStart Training Pads II case
from the carry case. If using a clothed
manikin, remove the clothing as instructed.
4. Open the pads case and remove one pad.
5. Place the pad on the pads
placement guide or the
manikin, exactly as shown.

front panel – or, if the
Infant/Child Key is inserted,
on the front of the Key –
