Inspection instructions

8.1 Inspections prior to placing in
operation for the first time
The inspection prior to placing in operation for the first
time is used to confirm compliance with the safety
requirements in national/international regulations, in
particular the machinery directive or the use of work
equipment directive (EC declaration of conformance).
Inspection of the effectiveness of the protection
equipment on the machine in all the operating modes in
which the machine can be placed.
The operators of the machine protected with the
protection equipment must be briefed by specialist
personal prior to starting work. The instruction of the
operators is the responsibility of the operating
organisation.
8.2 Regular inspections of the
protection equipment by
specialist personnel
‡ Inspection in accordance with valid national regulations at
the intervals defined in the regulations. These inspections
serve to uncover changes or manipulation of the
protection equipment compared to when placed in
operation for the first time.
‡ The inspections are also to be carried out whenever major
changes are made to the machine or protection
equipment, as well as on readjustment or repairs in the
case of damage to the housing, front panel, connecting
cable, etc.
