Switching outputs
The primary relay A with its positively driven contacts is the
"safety" switching output of the LGT (Fig. 5, Appendix). The
control unit checks these contacts to ensure that they are
functioning correctly.
The auxiliary relay B with its switching output operates as a
second independent switch-off path if the primary relay fails.
According to pr EN 50 100, the output current circuits must
be appropriately protected, e.g. by means of fuses. Arc
suppressors must be provided to protect the relay contacts
(Fig. 6, Appendix).
The protective field status output gives the actual condition
of the protective field (Fig. 7, Appendix). This output is not
relevant to safety.
Protective field free
Protective field broken
The contamination output signals possible contamination of
the light grid (Fig. 8, Appendix).
Light grid not contaminated
Light grid contaminated
The external contact monitoring monitors the contacts of
connected contactors to ensure that they are functioning
correctly (e.g. frozen). For this purpose, these must be
followed back to the LGT and must be connected according to
the connection diagram (Fig. 9, Appendix).
The contactor monitor monitors the static rest position of the
external contactors. If a dynamic contactor monitor is
specified, the monitor must be integrated into the higher-
order controller.
