Improvements in version 2.6
Version 2.6 contains the following improvements and changes:
● During a Windows restart you could sporadically experience a STOP with the message "Unstable system clock" with fail-
safe CPUs.
● Transfer of parameters with lossy implicit conversions no longer results in faulty data transfers.
Occurrence of faulty data transfer required a combination of various conditions during block call:
An implicit lossy assignment was made during parameter transfer to the block interface (for example, transfer of a
DINT value to an INT block parameter).
Only FB calls are affected.
The ENO functionality must be actively used during the block call (for example, interconnection of the ENO output in
LAD).
After the lossy parameter transfer, another parameter transfer must be executed during the block call.
● If the alarm messages for the "Get_Alarm" block were configured in different languages, changing the display language
no longer causes the alarm texts to only be visible for a few seconds.
● The String instructions (MID, DELETE, etc.) now supply correct values when the tag is of the data type WString, input
and output are located on the same WString tag, and the length of the WString is greater than 1024 bits at the same
time.
● The configuration limit for monitoring tags with memory-intensive values (STRING, WSTRING) was increased so that the
sporadic message "The maximum number of monitoring operations permitted has been exceeded." no longer occurs for
most applications.
● In the case of user-defined web pages, if a tag is accessed directly as well as via an array (via AWP_Start_Array) on the
same web page, the effect that symbolic characters are displayed instead of the tag values no longer occurs.
● The web server now uses the defined MIME type for JSON files.
● The number of sent bytes is now displayed correctly in the web server of the CPU on the "Connection status" page in
case of an OPC UA connection.
● The communication between the IO controller and the I-device works even if the IO controller and the I-device are not
located in the same IP subnet.
● The CPU behaves correctly during "Device replacement without exchangeable medium" even if the DCP response of the
IO device does not contain an InstanceId parameter.
● During access via OPC UA, a Boolean array can now be written or read in a UDT even if the block is not optimized.
● The OPC UA server no longer verifies the IP address of the client certificate in the certificate field "Subject Alternative
Name".
● Empty strings in structures on the OPC UA server are now displayed correctly according to the OPC UA specification.
● The performance limits that could be detected in version 2.5 regarding reading and writing of string values in structures
no longer occur with version 2.6.
● It is now possible for OPC UA servers to create OPC UA subscriptions based on "registered Node IDs" (registered OPC
UA nodes).
● The OPC UA server now behaves according to the OPC UA specification when an attempt is made to register non-
existent "Node IDs".
● During transfer of recipe values from the HMI to the controller the highly sporadic behavior that the recipe was
transferred incompletely no longer occurs.
● During interconnection of Motion Control axis technology objects to multiple data blocks with the same offset,
configuration errors no longer occur.
● The fail-safe CPU no longer switches to STOP during download of program changes with the message: "16#0D:75D1,
error: Safety program: Internal CPU error" when the OPC UA server is enabled and a fail-safe OB exists.
● The CPU does not change sporadically to STOP with the message: "CPU error: Error while evaluating the memory card:
Structure of the external load memory inconsistent, current card type: program card (external load memory), function
completed/canceled, new start-up lock set: ...external load memory faulty (delete in TIA Portal or remove memory card)"
if only the hardware configuration (without blocks) is loaded.
