(briefly to max. 35°C) and higher pressure produce higher values and vice versa.
Retention rate: 95 % at a minimum pressure of 3 bar. If the pressure is lower, the
retention rate decreases. The quality of the osmosis water therefore depends on the
quality of the initial water:

Membrane: TFC (Thin Film Composite) Polyamide/Polysulphone. This membrane
reflects state-of-the -art reverse osmosis engineering and is resistant to bacteria
and largely resistant to chlorine. The membrane is ready-fitted and dry-preserved
using the latest preservation method. Compared with the standard procedure of wet
preservation, this has the advantage that the membrane can be stored longer before
use and cannot be damaged by frost in winter.
Filter: The unit is fitted as a standard with a sediment pre-filter (pore-width 5 µ) and
an active carbon pre-filter. This means that it can be used irrespective of the amount
of sediment or chlorine in the initial water. The water should always first pass through
the carbon filter and then the fine filter. The filters are mounted on the JBL Osmosis
120 in this order. This prevents any carbon dust from the carbon filter cartridge being
shaken loose during transport or other vibration and settling on the membrane,
reducing capacity.
Proportion of permeate to concentrate: Any reverse osmosis unit should be
operated so that there are at least 4 liters of waste water (concentrate) for each liter
of pure water (permeate). These are the optimum conditions to prolong the service-
life of the membrane. Since in units with a rinsing valve, the amount of waste water is
often unintentionally set too low and the membrane becomes more quickly blocked
(unusable), JBL Osmosis 120 is fitted with an automatic precision flow regulator. This
ensures that the proportion of permeate to concentrate is always set correctly (min. 1:4),
causing minimum wear to the membrane. This also dispenses with the need to re-adjust
the flow rate and rinse the membrane using the rinsing valve.
Installation and operation
1. Detach the fastening clips (5) from the unit and attach them one above the other
and correctly spaced to a sufficiently stable, vertical surface near a tap with a
3/4" hose attachment. Precautions should be taken to ensure that, in the event of
any leakage of water, water can drain away under the reverse osmosis unit without
causing damage. Engage the reverse osmosis unit in the clips so that the end
with the permeate and concentrate outlet are uppermost. This ensures optimum
ventilation.
2. Fitting the hoses
