3.
Once the desired cooking time is set the display will flash three times then begin to count down.
Cooking has now started.
4.
After the cooking time has ended, the slow cooker will switch to the keep warm setting. Some food
will deteriorate if kept in the keep warm mode for extended periods of time.
5.
When ready to serve, switch off the wall power outlet and remove the plug from the socket.
USING WITH DELAY START
This feature allows you to delay the start of cooking in one hour increments.
1.
Follow steps 1 and 2 under Using Without Delay Start.
Press and hold the time/delay timer button for 2-3 seconds. The display will flash and display AA:0x
2.
(where x is the cooking time you have set plus 1 hour). For example, if you set a cooking time of 7
hours, the display will show AA:08. Each additional press of the time/delay timer button will add
one hour to the delay (first press = AA:08, second press = AA:09, etc).
Don't worry if you've set a cooking time which includes 30 minutes (e.g. 7:30, 8:30, etc.). The 30 will
disappear when you're setting the start delay due to the limitations of the display but still be counted
during cooking. The total cooking time plus delay start time cannot exceed 12 hours. So, if you've set a 10
hour cooking time you can only set a 2 hour delay before cooking starts.
SERVING
1.
Check that the slow cooker is off
2.
Using oven gloves, remove the lid, and put it on a heatproof surface.
3.
It's best to ladle the food from the slow cooker into serving dishes or plates.
4.
Don't carry the slow cooker, the trailing cable may catch on something.
5.
You may use oven gloves to lift the cooking pot, complete with the lid, but it's hot and it's heavy – so
take care.
Cleaning can be made much easier if you immediately remove all the cooked food from the cooking pot,
then fill it with warm water.
NOTES
If the time/delay timer button is not pressed, the cooking time that appears on the display screen
will be the default time (6 hours) and cooking will commence.
During cooking, the time can be changed at any stage by pressing the time/delay timer button (D).
To cancel the setting or time selected, press the mode select button (m) until none of the indicator
lights are illuminated. After the time flashes 4 times, the display screen will then flash "----" indicating
that your slow cooker is in standby mode.
At the end of the cooking time the slow cooker will automatically switch to the keep warm setting
(the O light will flash) and the display screen will begin to count down from 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes has elapsed, the slow cooker will automatically remain on the keep warm setting
and the display will begin to count down for 10 hours.
Once 10 hours has elapsed the slow cooker will automatically switch to standby mode.
SEARING
Important points when using the cooking pot for searing:
When searing on the hob, the cooking pot will become very hot. Handle with care using oven
gloves!
On gas hobs, always use the correct sized burner. Do not use on a burner that is larger than the
base area of the cooking pot.
Use an oven glove to hold the cooking pot during use and when stirring.
For recipes requiring ingredients to be seared, browned, sautéed or fried. Always use silicone,
heatproof plastic or wood utensils to avoid scratching nonstick surface. Never use metal spoons,
spatulas, tongs, forks or knives as these will damage the non-stick surface.
If your recipe calls for searing, browning, sautéing or frying ingredients prior to slow cooking,
remove the cooking pot from the slow cooker and place it directly on a hob to cook ingredients as
per a normal frypan.
Hob use is only suitable for gas and electric hobs. Not suitable for induction hobs.
