Mounting the line head
1. If fitted: For removing the blade, see see
chapter 4.5 "Fitting/removing the blade (05)",
page 38.
2. Put the washer (06/3) onto the drive shaft of
the cutter head (06/2).
3. Put on the spool head (06/1) and screw tight.
Dismantling the spool head
1. Loosely turn the spool head (06/1) anti-clock-
wise. Use the retaining pin for bracing.
2. Remove the spool head (06/1) and washer
(06/3).

Putting on and adjusting the carrying
belt (07 – 08)
Putting on the carrying belt
1. Put on the carrying belt according to the fig-
ure (07).
2. Hook the snap hook (08/1) into the eye (08/2)
on the appliance.
Checking the length of the carrying belt
1. Carry out several horizontal sweeping move-
ments above the ground without starting the
engine (08/a). The cutting head must always
move above the floor at the same height.
2. If not: Adjust the length of the carrying belt
and repeat the sweeping movements.
5 OPERATION
5.1
Switching the appliance on and off (09)
Switching on the appliance
1. Bring the appliance in the working position.
2. Press and hold the release lever (09/1) on
the appliance.
3. Press the locking button (09/2) to secure the
lever (09/1) in position.
4. Press and hold the on/off switch (09/3) for the
desired mode:

POWER ("fast"): Push the On/Off switch
forwards (09/a).
■
ECO ("slow"): Push the On/Off switch
backwards (09/b).
Switching off the appliance
1. Release the on/off switch (09/3).
2. Release the locking button (09/2) to release
the lever (09/1).

Checking the charge status of the
rechargeable battery, "Motion
Detection" (10)
A charge status indicator is located on the top of
the rechargeable battery. This activates automati-
cally for a few seconds if the rechargeable bat-
tery is gently shaken. The rechargeable battery
can also be installed in the appliance. In this
case, you must move the entire appliance gently
back and forth to activate the charge status indi-
cator.
1. Shake the rechargeable battery or move the
entire appliance gently back and forth. The
LEDs of the charge status indicator light ac-
cording to the charge status of the recharge-
able battery.

The green LED for the current charge status
flashes during charging. The green LEDs for the
low charge states light permanently.
Operating time of the rechargeable battery
If the operating time of the rechargeable battery
is reduced in spite of it being fully charged, the
rechargeable battery is at the end of its service
life and must be replaced by a new original re-
chargeable battery.
