3.1

TRAINING

WARNING! Read these instructions
carefully before using the machine. Be
familiar with the controls and the prop-
er use of the machine. Learn to stop the
machine and disengage the controls
quickly. Failure to observe the warnings
and instructions may lead to electric
shock, fire and/or serious injury. Please
keep all the warnings and instructions
for future reference.
Never allow children or people unfamil-
iar with these instructions to use the
machine. Local regulations may restrict
the age of the operator.
The appliance can be use by children
aged 8 years and over and by people
with reduced physical, sensorial or
mental abilities, or lacking experience
and the necessary familiarity with the
machine as long as they are adequately
supervised or have received adequate
instructions on the safe use of the ap-
pliance and understand all hazards
linked to its operation. Children must
not play with the appliance. Routine
cleaning and maintenance operations
must not be performed by children ex-
cept under adequate supervision.
Keep persons, children and animals
away from the working area.
Never use the machine if the user is
tired or unwell, or has taken medicine,
drugs, alcohol or substances which
may slow his reflexes and compromise
his judgement.
Keep in mind that the operator or user
is responsible for accidents or hazards
occurring to other people or their prop-
erty. It is the user's responsibility to as-
sess the potential risk of the area where
work is to be carried out, and to take all
the necessary precautions to ensure
his own safety and that of others, par-
ticularly on slopes or rough, slippery
and unstable ground.

In the event of changes in ownership or
loan of the machine, make sure the fu-
ture user reads the instructions for use
provided in this manual.
Take care not to slip or fall, especially
when reversing.
3.2

PREPARATION

• Thoroughly inspect the area where the ma-
chine is to be used and remove all doormats,
sleds, boards, branches, wires and any other
foreign objects.
• Disengage all clutches and shift into neutral
before starting the engine.
• It is advisable to wear suitable winter clothing
when using the machine. Wear resistant, non-
slip footwear that will improve footing on slip-
pery surfaces.  Protect eyes with face shield or
safety glasses.
Adjust the height of the auger housing mak-
ing sure it remains above gravel surfaces.
Before each use, check the power cable
and  extension  flex  for  damage  and  any
signs of deterioration and/or aging. Take
the  plug  out  of  the  socket  immediately  if
the  cable  or  extensions  flex  get  damaged
during use. DO NOT TOUCH THE CABLE
BEFORE UNPLUGGING IT. Never use the
machine if the power cable or extension flex
is worn or damaged. A damaged or worn
cable may lead to inadvertent contact with
live parts.
Make sure that the mains voltage matches
the snow thrower's rated voltage.
Before  use  thoroughly  check  the  efficien-
cy of the machine, in particular make sure
there are no worn or damaged components.
Replace worn/damaged parts if necessary.
Never  attempt  to  make  any  adjustments
while the engine is running (except when
specifically recommended by the manufac-
turer).
Before starting to remove snow, allow the
engine and machine to adapt to the outdoor
temperature.
Always wear safety glasses or a face shield
during operation or while performing main-
tenance or repairs to protect eyes from ob-
jects that may be thrown from the machine.
