tating parts. Keep clear of the discharge
opening at all times.
Exercise extreme caution when operating
on or crossing gravel drives, walks or roads.
Stay alert for hidden hazards. Look out for
traffic when using the machine near the
road.
Turn off the motor and unplug the machine
from the mains :
a. after striking a foreign object. Inspect
the machine for any damage and make
any necessary repairs before restarting
and operating the machine.
b. If the machine should start to vibrate
abnormally. (Seek the cause of
vibrations immediately and rectify the
problem). Vibrations usually indicate a
problem.
c. Whenever you leave the operating
position;
d. Before unclogging and cleaning the
auger housing;
e. Before making any repairs, adjustments
or inspections on the machine.
Before cleaning, repairing or inspecting
the machine, make certain the auger
and all moving parts have stopped and
that the controls are disengaged.
Never mow across the face of the slope.
When mowing on a slope, proceed up and
down the slope as opposed to across it,
taking great care when changing directions
that may cause the machine to slide side-
ways, roll over or otherwise cause loss of
control. Avoid steep slopes.
Exercise caution in the proximity of cliffs,
ditches or embankments. The machine
may overturn if a wheel drives over the
edge or the edge gives way. Exercise max-
imum caution when reversing and working
in reverse. Look behind you both before and
during reversing to make sure there are no
obstacles.
Carefully indicate the presence of kerbs or
fixed objects which maybe hidden by the
snow and could come into contact with the

Never operate the machine if guards and/
or other safety protective devices are dam-
aged or are not in place.
Exercise added caution when using the
snow thrower near glass screens, cars,
windows, etc. .
Keep children and animals away from the
working area. Get another adult to keep the
children under supervision.
Do not overload the machine capacity by
attempting to clear snow at too fast a rate.
Never operate the machine at high trans-
port speeds on slippery surfaces.
Never direct the discharge chute against
the wind or toward people, animals, vehi-
cles, buildings or any other areas where
damage can occur caused by the snow or
objects hidden in the snow, especially when
working on gravel paths/drives. Never allow
anyone to stand in front of the machine.
Disengage the auger when the machine is
being transported or is not being used.
Mow only in daylight or with good artificial
light in good visibility conditions.
Do not use the machine in bad weather, es-
pecially if there is a risk of lightning.
Always be sure of your footing, and keep a
firm hold on the handle. Walk - never run!
Do not change the engine governor set-
